From its original multi-agency oversight to present-day operation under our County Sheriff, we’ve overcome significant hurdles; including a time in recent years when lack of funding eliminated pretrial services altogether – compromising community safety and individual wellbeing across the county.

Women’s Pathways to Serious and Habitual Crime

Qualitative approaches for identifying and characterizing women’s pathways to crime are being augmented by quantitative methods. This study applies quantitative taxonomic methods in disaggregating a large sample of women offenders from a prison population to identify diverse pathway prototypes.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) began using the Northpointe Classification as a management tool in its corrections facilities in 2016. The current study is motivated by the principle of periodically validating classification tools to ensure that they are performing well and achieving desired agency objectives.
